Through the fading light the combatants quit the field. Some sort of submersible vessel continues to shell the site from the river. The sheer importance of the project ensures, although beaten and bruised, the Iopians will return and in greater numbers. The five companions and freed elemental flee to their rendezvous point.

The trek is uneventful and the site is gained without incident. With only a day and a half before the return of the Deliverance, Kerac removes himself from the group to interview the elemental...

Together they sit heads together, not pausing for rest or sustenance. The night passes into day, the day passes into night, and as the sun climbs to mid morning the Deliverance can be seen in the northern sky.

The Deliverance returns and after a brief farewell to the elemental it vanishes into the soft earth. Kerac appearing preoccupied returns below deck for the journey back to the Keep.
